Thank goodness.

The original bill, in my opinion, was an effort by Harkin to legitimize the power grab by the education arm of the Obama administration.

It had been a good 20 years since I played the face-to-face board game when the kids were young. I never wanted to be a teacher.  I don't even have one of those special teachers in my past that I strive to emulate.  My mother taught.  My grandmother taught.  But me, I wanted to write, not teach.  That confession in my first teaching-job interview changed the expression on my interviewers face from interest to: "You'll teach in my district over my dead body."  Oops. I remember her well. My son graduated with an English degree from Tech in 2006, the year before the tragedy.
